The brand you’re thinking of is almost certainly Silentech, a Canadian maker of aluminum fence panels that gets shortened to “Silestone” constantly on Fort Myers job sites. - White chalky oxidation on dark powder coat. This is cosmetic but progressive. Fort Myers’s humidity and salt mist accelerate aluminum oxidation under the powder coat. Once it gets chalky enough, the coating delaminates and the raw aluminum pits. We can color-match and respray a panel, but on black or bronze finishes more than eight years old, replacement looks cleaner.
